HAMAS AGENT DUPED U.S. INTO GIVING IT SECURITY BRIEFINGS

US security coordinator briefed top Hamas agent - report (JNW)
A United States' special security coordinator to the Palestinian Authority was duped into holding regular meetings with a top Hamas terrorist masquerading as a Fatah terrorist, according to reports in the Israeli press Monday.

In his position as Preventative Security Services director Youssef Issah, along with a handful of other terrorists, held regular security meetings with Lt. Gen. Keith Dayton.

WorldNetDaily reports the meetings were largely aimed at implementing the Dayton Plan, which called for the US to strengthen Abbas' security forces against the rival Hamas group.

PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah organization has now charged Issah with working for Hamas, according to unnamed Fatah sources.

Dayton's responsibilities included the allocation and use of tens of millions of US dollars to establish the PA's security infrastructure - a major component in the Bush administration's effort to stabilize "Palestinian" society so as to be able to push ahead with the land-for-peace process that is intended to establish a Muslim state called Palestine on ancient Jewish lands.

In remarks made to the House Foreign Affairs Middle East and South Asia Sub-Committee on May 23 this year, Dayton stated:

"I am committed personally and professionally to putting the $59 million authorized to me by the Congress to the uses you intended with the ['Palestinian'] Presidential Guard, the Karni Crossing [into Gaza], and the Office of National Security under President [sic] Abbas."

The security coordinator emphasized that Washington "must remain mindful of the dangerous challenges facing Abbas' security forces."
