BUSH WAIVES LAW BANNING PLO FROM D.C.

Bush extends PLO waiver (JTA)
President Bush once again waived laws that would ban a Palestine Liberation Organization office in Washington.

Bush and his predecessor, Bill Clinton, have routinely used their prerogative to waive such laws every six months since the PLO first established an office in the U.S. capital in the mid-1990s, coincident with the Oslo peace process. The laws, some extending to 1987, ban terrorist groups from establishing a U.S. presence. The waiver was announced Thursday.
