Bush calls on Israel to freeze settlement activity
US President George W. Bush on Tuesday urged Israel to freeze settlements and dismantle unauthorized outposts in the West Bank, while telling Palestinian rulers to abandon ties to terrorist groups.
Bush, addressing the UN General Assembly in New York, also asked Arab states to "establish normal relations with Israel."
"Israel should impose a settlement freeze, dismantle unauthorized outposts, end the daily humiliation of the Palestinian people, and avoid any actions that prejudice final negotiations," Bush said.
