A PETITION

When they met at Michigan, they chanted, "Kill the Jews." When they came to Rutgers, swastikas were appeared on Hillel and AE Pi. Now, they are coming to Duke. The Palestine Solidarity Movement is dedicated to the destruction of the Jewish State by "any means necessary" - including terrorism and suicide bombing.

Now, Palestine Solidarity, the American, student arm of the International Solidarity Movement, has announced that its National Conference will be held at Duke University, Oct. 15, 16, and17, 2004.

Duke University President Richard Brodhead should kick this group off campus the way Rutgers President Richard McCormick kicked them off Rutgers last year. American Universities should not lend their campuses to groups that endorse suicide bombing and violence as a means of resolving political questions.

The planners of a pro-Palestinian student conference at Duke University will not sign a statement condemning terrorism as Jewish groups on campus have requested, a spokesman said. Condemning Palestinian organizations' methods would violate the guidelines of the Palestinian Solidarity Movement, said Rann Bar-On, a member of the affiliated Duke group Hiwar. "We don't see it as very useful for us as a solidarity movement to condemn violence," he said. "That will not achieve any particular goal." (AP/Winston-Salem Journal)

the swastikas on hillel and ae pi's buildings at rutgers happened way before the conference and were believed to be a result of pro-israel campus activists attempts to block the conference from taking place
