As it becomes clear that the Palestinians are not capable of governing themselves, support is growing in the Israeli establishment for a "regional settlement" based on the 1948 formula: Egypt would retake the Gaza Strip, Jordan the West Bank and Syria the Golan Heights, and Israel would obtain stable agreements with those countries, Aluf Benn writes.
