THE NEWS FROM GAZA
As I posted on Wednesday, 9/29, Palestinian rockets fired from Gaza killed two children. After months of putting up with these rockets, Israel has finally mounted a large-scale offensive to root them out of Gaza. Of course, Israel is not just trying to stop the rockets, but to show the Palestinians that Israel's unilateral withdrawal from Gaza is not a retreat and does not signal that future rocket attacks will be tolerated.
Needless to say, the news media are distorting Israel's actions and the U.N. is condemning Israel's attempt at self-defense and calling on Israel to back off. I'm still waiting for a U.N. condemnation of the terrorists launching rockets into Israel. Maybe the U.N. believes Arafat when he says that the rockets are just big party noisemakers? Maybe the U.N. looks the other way because the Palestinian terrorists are using U.N. vehicles to transport their rockets? Or is it because the U.N. employs members of Hamas?
If you read Hebrew, you'll learn that Israel has already killed 70 terrorists in the raid.
