ABBAS ENDORSED BY MASS MURDERER AND SUICIDE BOMBERS!

Barghouti Backs Abbas in Palestinian Race.
RAMALLAH, West Bank - Jailed Palestinian uprising leader Marwan Barghouti dropped out of the race to replace Yasser Arafat on Friday, agreeing to support the candidacy of interim leader Mahmoud Abbas in a move intended to head off a split in the ruling Fatah movement.

Al-Aqsa Brigades endorses Abbas for Palestinian president.
GAZA CITY (AFP) - The radical Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades movement, an armed offshoot of the dominant Fatah faction, gave its endorsement to PLO chairman Mahmud Abbas in the contest for Palestinian Authority president. “We announce our commitment and complete support to our brother Abu Mazen (Abbas) who we believe will implement the will of the Palestinian people,” the Brigades said in a statement sent to AFP.

Fatah: Abbas is Our Only Candidate - Khaled Abu Toameh
The Fatah revolutionary council on Thursday endorsed PLO chairman Mahmoud Abbas as its official candidate in the upcoming election for the chairmanship of the PA, putting an end to jailed Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti's ambition to run as a Fatah candidate in the election. Fatah activists said Thursday that Barghouti, defying his own party, has decided to run in the election. The Higher Committee of Fatah, an unofficial body consisting of scores of young guard Fatah figures, has openly challenged Abbas's nomination as "illegal and undemocratic." Abu Hassan Hijawi, a spokesman for Fatah prisoners in Israeli prisons, voiced support for Abbas and urged Barghouti not to run, saying it was inappropriate for a man sitting behind bars to present his candidacy. 16 Palestinians have thus far announced or signaled their intention to run to replace Arafat, reflecting the Palestinians' first real taste of democracy. THE ONLY THING THAT CAN STOP HIS CANDIDACY NOW IS AN ENDORSEMENT FROM AL GORE.

THE REST OF THE ARAB WORLD WANTS HAMAS TO RUN THE SHOW.

Arab world: 73.72% want Hamas to replace Arafat
A survey of the Arab world organized by the Al-Arabia network website after the death of Yasser Arafat, showed 73.72% want a Hamas representative to replace Arafat, ITIM reported. In contrast only 0.7% expect that one of the PLO leaders will take over. 25.58% were in favor of an independent candidate. 113,107 participants from across the Arab world took part in the survey.

The organizers of the survey explained that the Hamas movement and the Islamic Jihad organization stand for the establishment of a Palestinian state on the land of historic Palestine [ED. I.E., ALL OF ISRAEL], a concept that the PLO gave up on when the Oslo discussions began.
