BURYING ARAFAT II
'Arafat to be buried in Mukata' (?)
Yasser Arafat will be buried in the Mukata, the Ramallah headquarters he had been confined to in the past three years, senior Palestinians officials declared in a press conference Tuesday evening.
However, Israeli security and government officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said in the past few days that Ramallah is not an option. Israel fears a funeral in Ramallah could present a security risk because of its close proximity to Jerusalem and due to the many army-manned roadblocks surrounding the town.
AS YOU'LL RECALL FROM YESTERDAY'S POST, ISRAEL IS PROPOSING THAT ARAFAT BE BURIED IN A GARBAGE DUMP IN GAZA. SEEMS REASONABLE TO ME. ON A RELATED NOTE, ISRAEL SAYS ITS MORTAL ENEMIES CAN COME TO ISRAEL FOR THE FUNERAL.
Enemy heads can attend Arafat funeral
Israel will allow foreign leaders, including those from enemy states, to attend the funeral of Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat should it be held in the Gaza Strip, government officials said Sunday. Israel is also prepared to allow West Bank and Gaza Palestinians who are not deemed dangerous access to the funeral, they said.
AFTER THE FUNERAL, THEY CAN ALL REPAIR TO THE LOCAL POLICE STATION, WHERE THEY WILL BE HELD PENDING TRIAL FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY. SERIOUSLY, WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY. ALL OF THE WORLD'S BAD GUYS GATHERED IN ONE PLACE. ONE STRATEGICALLY PLACED BOMB......
THE U.S. AND THE E.U. WON'T BE SENDING THEIR PRESIDENTS TO HOPNOB WITH CASTRO, KHADDAFI, THE MAD MULLAH'S OF IRAN AND OTHER ASSORTED NASTIES (LIKE JIMMY CARTER).
US, EU won't send Presidents to Arafat funeral
The United States and Europe are not planning to send heads of states to a funeral for the ailing Yasser Arafat, but rather Cabinet ministers or diplomats, diplomats said Tuesday. .... A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said no decisions had been made but several options were being considered for the funeral, from sending U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell to having former U.S. presidents attend, such as Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter.
