DOES THIS MEAN SHARON IS DEMOTED FROM GENERAL TO PRIVATE?
Israeli soldier demoted for Arafat death jibe
JERUSALEM – The Israeli army has demoted a soldier for remarks gloating over the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, citing a ban on political discourse within the ranks, military sources said on Tuesday. The Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth said the conscript, a corporal, had been stripped of his role as squad leader for telling comrades "Arafat is dead – good riddance" after the Palestinian president was declared dead on Nov. 11. "The soldier in question did not honour the Israel Defence Force's core values and the ban on troops holding political discussions," a military source told Reuters.
SHOOTING AT ARAFAT WAS OKAY. BEING GLAD HE'S DEAD ISN'T.
