STILL A MADMAN

No full recovery for Arafat
Yasser Arafat´s mental functions have been permanently affected by his illness, an aide to the Palestinian leader said. "Even if he returns, and I hope he does, he will not be the same Arafat - not for us, not for Israel, and not even for himself," Imad Shakur told Israel´s Army Radio on Monday, referring to treatment the Palestinian leader is undergoing in France. A full diagnosis of the mysterious stomach complaint that struck Arafat this month is not expected before Wednesday, but Palestinian officials insist a terminal condition like leukemia is unlikely. Israel, which allowed Arafat to be flown of the West Bank on Friday, has said he could return but hopes an alternative Palestinian leadership will arise in his absence.

LET'S SEE. BEFORE: MURDEROUS MADMAN. AFTER: MURDEROUS, BEDWETTING MADMAN.
