Catholics are Jews in New Mexico?
Thirty out of 78 members of an extended Catholic family in New Mexico tested positive for the DNA marker of the Jewish priestly class. The tests of the family of Rev. William Sanchez indicate that it is likely the family is descended from Jews who converted under duress during the Spanish Inquisition, the Los Angeles Times reported. Fewer than 1 percent of non-Jews possess this marker, an expert on the issue, Michael Hammer, told the L.A. Times.
