OH CANADA!

Canada recalls passports of Israeli-born
Taking a page out of the manuals of large manufacturers who recall merchandise found to be faulty or dangerous, the Canadian government has begun "recalling" Canadian passports that bear mention of "Jerusalem, Israel" as the passport bearer's place of birth.

Natalie Amar, a spokesperson at the Canadian embassy, confirmed Monday that "we are indeed recalling the passports, because they are inconsistent with our long standing policy."

Canada, like every other country in the world with the exception of Costa Rica and El Salvador, doesn't recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, and in the past has – like the US – only listed "Jerusalem" on passports for Canadians born in the city.
