French groups oppose Sharon visit
Twenty-five French groups are protesting Jacques Chirac’s invitation to Ariel Sharon to come to France in July. How can Chirac “roll out the red carpet to a war criminal like Sharon?” the groups asked in a collective statement. The coalition, which is made up of pro-Palestinian groups, as well as several peace organizations, has called upon the public to mobilize against Sharon’s visit.
