A LETTER TO THE NYT
ARTHUR SIEGEL HAS HAD ENOUGH! BRAVO TO HIM FOR HIS LETTER TO THE NEW YORK TIMES (BELOW):
The NYT's selective use of the "terror" was mostly clearly, and most embarrassingly - for you - evidenced today. Your writers in today's edition write that "Britain said today that it was hunting the masterminds of the terror attacks" but the attack in Israel was a "suicide bombing."
Even worse, you quote Abbas incompletely. According to The Jerusalem Post, Abbas said"We condemn this terrorist attack. It's a crime against the Palestinian people," http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1121135428583
Tellingly, your article omitted the first sentence.
When even Abbas calls it a terrorist attack, what is the basis for your editing the word out? You are aiding and abetting terrorism in Israel when you make these artificial distinctions between blowing up inhabitants of London and of Israel. Until the civilized world, including Muslim leaders and The New York Times, use clear language to condemn, and properly describe, all of these evil acts, the perpetrators achieve a moral standing to which they are not entitled.
