The Shin Bet security agency is investigating reports that al-Qaeda has set up a Palestinian affiliate in Gaza known as the Jihad Brigades of the Border Country, sources said. Masked brigade members seen on a videotape aired on Israeli Channel 2 television Tuesday claimed cell members were responsible for firing mortars at Israeli targets.
