ISRAELI INGENUITY

Enzyme Computer Could Live Inside You - Will Knight (New Scientist)
A molecular computer that uses enzymes to perform calculations has been built by researchers in Israel. Itamar Willner, who constructed it with colleagues at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, believes enzyme-powered computers could eventually be implanted into the human body and used to, for example, tailor the release of drugs to a specific person's metabolism. "This is basically a computer that could be integrated with the human body," he said. "We feel you could implant an enzyme computer into the body and use it to calculate an entire metabolic pathway."
