ILLINOIS GOV. PUTS NATION OF ISLAM ON DISRIMINATION PANEL

WHAT'S NEXT? THE IRANIAN PRESIDENT ON THE GOVERNING BOARD OF YAD VASHEM?

Nation of Islam official stays on hate panel
Jewish groups protested the Illinois governor’s appointment of the Nation of Islam’s minister of protocol to a commission on discrimination and hate crimes.

The Chicago Jewish federation and the Anti-Defamation League said Claudette Johnson, or Sister Claudette Marie Muhammad, is not fit to be on the panel given her position with the Nation of Islam and connection to its leader, the Rev. Louis Farrakhan. Johnson will not be removed from the position, said the governor’s spokeswoman, Cheryle Jackson.

The groups cited remarks made by Farrakhan during a speech Sunday. Farrakhan said that “false Jews promote the filth of Hollywood” and homosexuality. He also said because of the Jerusalem gay pride parade, “that land is going to be cleansed with blood.” Farrakhan added that Israel controls the American government. [ED. BUT APPARENTLY NOT THE GOVERNMENT OF ILLINOIS]
