Auschwitz escapee dies
A man who mounted a daring escape bid from Auschwitz in order to warn the world about the full horror of the death camp has died at the age of 82. Rudolph Vrba, who died in Vancouver on Thursday, was credited with saving more than 100,000 Jews by gathering and distributing information about the true fate of those transported to the camp in Poland.
