PINK FLOYD ROCKER DRINKS PALESTINIAN KOOL AID

PINK FLOYD STAR REQUESTS NEW ISRAELI VENUE
LATEST: PINK FLOYD rocker ROGER WATERS has requested that his upcoming Tel Aviv, Israel, gig be moved to a joint Jewish-Arab community after pressure from Palestinian political activists. The COMFORTABLY NUMB hitmaker will now stage his June (06) concert in a chickpea field at Neve Shalom instead of its original city park venue, according to local press. A report on Channel 2 TV shows the mayor of Neve Shalom, RAYAK RIZIK, walking through the field and welcoming Waters' change of heart. It speculates 50,000 people will be in attendance at the gig.

The bassist has publicly lent his support to a pro-Palestinian movement urging removal of a barrier Israel is building along the West Bank and, since announcing he was to play Tel Aviv, has been under sustained pressure from Palestinian activists to boycott the venue. However, he previously maintained, "I am happy to play to anybody who believes in peace. I don't discriminate between any of my fans, wherever they live. Being an Israeli does not disbar from being a human being."
