Shatner promotes therapeutic riding in Israel (JTA)
William Shatner is in Israel to promote therapeutic horseback riding. The Jewish actor, known for his role as Captain Kirk in “Star Trek,” arrived in Israel on Monday to raise funds for disabled children to go horseback riding, which the actor says has been shown to improve their conditions. Shatner, who is working with the Jewish National Fund on the project, hopes to raise $10 million for nearly 30 riding programs in Israel.
