SO MUCH FOR DEMOCRACY

So Much For Democracy (NYSun)
"The United States is encouraging Israel to hold 'serious talks' with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas as an alternative to the Hamas-dominated Palestinian Authority," the AP reports. So much for democracy. The Palestinian Arabs used their chance to vote to elect terrorists to represent them. But rather than teaching the Palestinian Arabs the consequences of voting for terrorists -- no peace process, cutting back on aid, and so on -- so that in the future they'll think twice about voting for terrorists, the Bush administration is trying to force Israel to hold "serious talks" (read: Israel make more concessions) anyway. What's the lesson there?
