BOO HOO!

IF LIVING CONDITIONS IN GAZA ARE TOUGH THERE'S A GOOD EXPLANATION.  THE PALESTINIANS OF GAZA ARE IN CONTROL OF THEIR OWN DESTINY.  THEY ELECTED A TERRORIST GOVERNMENT THAT SPENDS MONEY ON WEAPONS INSTEAD OF SOCIAL WELFARE.  THEY DECLARED WAR ON ISRAEL AND INVITED ISRAELI MILITARY ACTION BY LAUNCHING ROCKETS INTO ISRAEL AND KIDNAPPING A SOLDIER.

'Living conditions are at a new low'

More than 200 Palestinians who fled their homes because of an Israeli offensive in southern Gaza sought shelter in a vacant UN school Saturday.

In a sign of the tensions, some of the displaced got into an argument over winning a spot at the shelter and gunfire erupted. Police said three officers were wounded in the melee.

"Living conditions are at a new low. It's a struggle to survive," said John Ging, the new head of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Gaza.

Ging warned that Israel's military campaign, prompted by the kidnapping of an Israeli soldier two weeks ago, has lead to a humanitarian crisis. "Water, food, electricity, sanitation; these are the problems. The situation doesn't get more basic than that," he said.

No humanitarian crisis in Gaza, IDF says

"The situation in Gaza is not even close to developing into a humanitarian crisis," head of the Gaza Liaison Administration Col. Nir Press told The Jerusalem Post, claiming that charges made by the Palestinians were aimed at deceiving the international community.

On Friday, Israel offered to open the Kerem Shalom crossing to let 500 Palestinians, waiting on the Egyptian side of the border, into the Gaza Strip. The Palestinians rejected the offer, declaring they would only be willing to use the main crossing from Egypt, located in Rafah.

The offer was made out of humanitarian concerns, said Capt. Yossi Tzemah, spokesman for the administration. The Rafah terminal was closed two weeks ago immediately following the kidnapping of Cpl. Gilad Shalit, abducted during a deadly attack on his IDF outpost outside southern Gaza.
