UN TO ISRAEL: "ALLAH AKBAR!!!"

UN debates draft resolution calling for Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.

UNITED NATIONS (AFP) - The UN Security Council debated a draft resolution demanding an immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the release of detained Palestinian officials but the United States described it as "unbalanced". The draft demands that "Israel, the occupying power, immediately cease its aggression against the Palestinian civilian population in the occupied Palestinian territory, withdraw its forces to positions outside the Gaza Strip and release all the Palestinian officials it has detained."

"OCCUPYING POWER"....."OCCUPIED PALESTINIAN TERRITORY"????  ISN'T THIS GAZA, FROM WHICH ISRAEL WITHDREW LAST YEAR ONLY TO HAVE IT TURN INTO A TERRORIST STAGING GROUND?

NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE RESOLUTION MAKES NO REFERENCE TO THE KIDNAPPING OF CORPORAL SHALIT OR THE INCESSANT ROCKET ATTACKS UPON ISRAELI CIVILIANS.

The council did not pass specific resolutions on the deteriorating situation in Sudan or violations of rights in any other country, raising concerns among American officials that the newly created rights body would revert to the Israel-bashing and politicization that discredited its predecessor, the Commission on Human Rights, and led to that organ's demise. The council also passed a resolution expressing opposition to "religious discrimination" - raised by Saudi Arabia to highlight purported anti-Muslim Danish cartoons. (New York Sun)
