Bush pledges $230m in Lebanon aid (BBC)
President George W Bush has announced that the US is to boost its aid package to Lebanon to $230m (£121m). The money would be used to help rebuild Lebanese homes and infrastructure, he told reporters at the White House.

Washington has let Jerusalem know that for now Israel should not expect any financial aid to help defray the cost of the war in Lebanon.
