IDF KILLS LOTS OF BAD GUYS

IDF kills Jihad operative in Jenin (JPost)
IDF troops killed an Islamic Jihad operative during a raid in Jenin on Wednesday, Palestinian security officials said. The officials said Mujahid Akram al-Saba, 27, was fatally shot shortly after IDF troops entered the West Bank town. The shooting sparked fierce gunbattles, which continued to rage Wednesday afternoon. The IDF had no immediate comment on the incident.

Earlier, the IAF struck three times in southern Gaza, killing six gunmen. Two air strikes came late Tuesday in the refugee camp on the Gaza-Egypt border, killing four Hamas members and wounding 18 bystanders. The IDF said it was targeting Hamas operatives in both attacks.

Before daybreak Wednesday, helicopters fired at gunmen in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, killing one and wounding three, witnesses and hospital officials said. The army said it targeted armed men who were approaching the border fence. IDF forces began clearing the area near the fence, the army said.

Residents said the first air strike in Rafah caused a huge fire. An eyewitness, Salim Abu Jazer, 55, said the initial blast was followed by two smaller explosions in the car. The IDF said that showed it was carrying explosives.

Later on Wednesday Israeli troops shot and killed a 16-year-old Palestinian boy in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical officials said. The shooting occurred in Khouza, a village near the town of Khan Younis, the officials said. Three other people were wounded, they added. The IDF said soldiers operating in the area had shot a Palestinian who was trying to plant a bomb.
