THE VOICE OF "PROGRESSIVE" PALESTINIANS

Palestine Times Shows "Human Side" of Palestinians (LGF)
Last March there was a series of stories in the media about a new English-language Palestinian newspaper being distributed in Israel, The Palestine Times, supposedly to show the more human side of the Palestinian people; here's the Jerusalem Post article: Palestinian daily to be read in Israel .

As Palestinians attempted to turn over a new page with the formation of their new government Saturday, editors at the only English-language Palestinian daily hoped readers would do the same.

The Palestine Times, a recently created 12-page daily was set to begin distribution across Israel on Sunday, following an agreement with the Bar Group company, which also delivers Yediot Aharonot and Globes. The goal of The Palestine Times is to show the "real image of Palestinians," said Founder and Editor-In-Chief Othman Haj Mohammed.

"My message is simple. I want to show our readers an image of Palestinians as a real, human society with all its needs. With its stories of failure and success, its sad moments and its happy moments," said Haj Mohammed. "The Palestinians are not only about Fatah and Hamas. They are about culture, arts, social issues and about helping the environment."

Sounds pretty progressive, huh? So how's the newspaper doing with that bridge-building, human-side-showing mission now, a few weeks later?

Why Palestinians should never recognize Israel's "right to exist".

Indeed, if the mere existence of a State confers moral legitimacy, then Nazi Germany and Apartheid South Africa, to mention just two examples, should have acquired moral legitimacy and "a right to exist."

But Israel is not a State like any other State. Israel is even more than a fruit of an adulterous relationship; it is an enduring crime against humanity, just as Nazi Germany was a crime against humanity.

I see.
