JEW WINS FIRST AFGHANISTAN MARATHON

FRANKLY, IT'S NO SURPRISE TO ME THAT HE WAS RUNNING SO FAST SURROUNDING BY A COUNTRY OF MUSLIMS BENT ON HIS EXTERMINATION. IMAGINE HOW FAST A JEW COULD RUN IN SAUDI ARABIA OR EGYPT!

Running for Judaism?
A Jewish man won the first marathon held in Afghanistan.

First Lt. Mike Baskin finished Sunday’s run in 3 hours, 12 minutes and 15 seconds. Baskin, who has been in Afghanistan since April, is a regular attendee at Temple Adat Shalom in Poway, Calif., his father Alan told JTA. Baskin’s father is Jewish but his mother is not; his brother is formally converting to Judaism in Israel, Alan Baskin said.
