THE HITLER SPA

Wiesenthal protests hotel group
The Simon Wiesenthal Center issued a letter of protest to the InterContinental Hotels for reviving a Nazi resort.

The winter 2005 edition of the hotel chain’s magazine referred to Hitler’s Bavarian Alps retreat near Berchtesgaden as a “cozy spot for a display of thigh-slapping local dancing” and a “particularly fine spot for yodeling,” Ha’aretz reported. Debate has raged over whether Berchtesgaden should be re-opened as a vacation town, and the hotel chain plans to open a Berchtesgaden Resort hotel.
