BRITISH ACADEMICS CALL MEETING TO RECONSIDER BOYCOTT
British lecturers call special meeting to reconsider boycott
By Tamara Traubman, Haaretz Correspondent (Thanks, Uncle Sticky)
The Association of University Teachers (AUT) in the United Kingdom has decided to call a special meeting to reconsider its boycott of two Israeli universities. The AUT decided two weeks ago to boycott Bar-Ilan and Haifa universities for what it saw as supporting the occupation and repressing academic freedom. The decision to reconsider the boycott comes in the wake of letters of protest from AUT members who requested that the decision be reversed.
