White House strategy: Exit Abbas, enter Hamas?

There's growing talk that the Bush administration, impatient overlack of visible movement toward an Israeli-Palestinian peacesettlement, may soon trash longstanding American policy andauthorize limited U.S. diplomatic contact with Abbas' chief rivaland Israel's worst enemy: the Islamic terrorist organization knownas Hamas. Talk about potential disasters!
